Adult Yoga Class by Laura Newman | 10:30am – 11:15am
Hi My name is Laura Newman and I have loved Yoga ever since I bought myself my first Yoga book over twenty years ago! It was in Mission I took my first ever Yoga class which was a lovely Hatha style class hosted by a beautiful teacher named Tracy!
Fast forward many years and my love that grew for the movement and practices of the classes I was taking drew me to take my training. I completed my 200 hr YTT in Winter of 2017 and have been teaching very consistently ever since. It was 2020 I went on to complete my 300 hr YTT as well as a 40 hr Aerial YTT and am right on top of my personal development journey!
My classes are fun, light-hearted and create a space for everyone and everybody to feel good and to get to celebrate the movement and range of motions that we have. I blend my teachings handed down to me from all previous teachers and offers them wholeheartedly to patrons participating!!
When the opportunity came up to do some karma work around the energy of animals and to help raise money and awareness for such a great cause to help out PEACE Animal Sanctuary, I didn’t hesitate!
Excited to move with you and take in this beautiful Summer Saturday with a short hike to start, some yoga which will be a 45 minute gentle movement with some flow, finished off with a grounding Savasana (All Levels Welcome!) and some very healthy smoothie bowls!
Sounds like a great start to the day!
-Namaste

Kids Yoga Class by Chantelle Doucet | 11:30am – 12:00pm
My name is Chantelle Doucet and I’ve lived in Mission for the past 8 years. After 15+ years of practicing yoga, and always wanting to take a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training, I finally did it earlier this year. I’m a big advocate for emotional health and wellness, squashing social norms, following your dreams and believing you are capable and worthy of more than you think.
For the past 20 years I have had a rewarding Railway career, currently driving commuter trains, but something was missing. Last year I started my own business, Nurtured Stem: Yoga and Wellness, where I get to fill in those gaps and provide myself with the purpose and fulfillment I desired. Nurtured Stem is about inspiring self-love, self-care and confidence, through personal growth coaching, retreats, workshops and yoga of course!
I love opportunities to create community and connection, so I couldn’t be happier to be apart of the PEACE Rescue and Farm Sanctuary fundraiser. I’ll be guiding a 30 minute KIDS Yoga class at the event! Naturally the class will be themed around Farmed Animals! It will include safe, silly fun and movement, as well as a calming and grounding portion 😉 I’m excited at this chance to give back to our community for this awesome charity event. I hope to see you there!
